Abstract

Creativity in tourism assumes a complex and transversal character to the various sectors of the tourist industry, as it influences the tourist satisfaction of several interested agents. This type of creativity, both in tourism supply and demand, is capable of promoting sustainability in the environmental, economic and sociocultural domains. The present study aims to carry out a systematic review of the literature on the subject of creativity in tourism as a way of promoting sustainability, with a view to identifying the most studied areas and aspects that can be the object of greater attention by researchers. The methodology applied consisted of the analysis of articles from scientific journals found in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, with a bibliometric characterization and a content analysis. The analysis carried out identified eight research gaps, such as the motivations and behaviors of tourists to pay more for creative products or services that promote the sustainability of destinations.
