In this study we tested, using OLS Regression (methods enter and stepwise), five hypotheses as pointed out by the theory. The results support all our hypotheses, except accessibility. Promoters tended to invest in regions where population density and income are higher. Promoters also tended to choose regions where there is a lack of competition (retailers per head) and where they perceived low levels of cost. We found no support for the accessibility measure, although the variable was correctly signed.
