The entry of low cost airlines in the airlines sector has brought great changes in the airport, airlines and tourism sectors. Those airlines produced major challenges not only for full service or charter airlines, but also to the airports and destinations. One of the mains examples in Portugal is the Faro Airport, which is our case study in this article. We also discuss the importance of a coordinated work between public and private enterprises (airport, airlines and tourism organizations).
