Abstract

Integrated in its Annual Congress, the Portuguese Association for Regional Development (APDR) has determined, in a special session, to honour Professor António Simões Lopes (19342012), distinguished regional scientist, its founder and its first president. In this text, using some of his published papers, we remember the professor and researcher compromised with the society always focusing his analysis on humankind and the living space.
